OPEN DOOR with Studio 3 - Moving Images

In the last session of the project, there was some reflection on how helpful it had been working as a group as it meant we had more ideas together, rather than on our own, and this gave a great sense of working as a team.

At first, Elaine felt working with animation seemed intimidating, but she found it helped her doing it as a group and being part of a team. She felt it had been nice to use her skills to do something different while learning one or two new skills at the same time. “I even did a bit of homework. That was an indication of my enthusiasm for the project!”

Howard felt it had been good to have had a long focus on animation as it gave the opportunity to build up more of a narrative. Philip also enjoyed how his drawings became part of John’s landscapes and were subtly animated – often with a simple blink of a creature’s eye.

Karen felt the project had inspired her to make something creative and given her the chance to build up some art skills and to do something she had never done before. “It’s become a massive part of my life now – being creative gives such a sense of fulfilment”.

In addition, Ian S. said that he enjoyed the project and it had given him the opportunity to make some new friends. Howard commented that, “It’s been really great and I’m looking forward to seeing the final DVD.”
